We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal

We Hunt the Flame is the breathtaking first installment in the internationally acclaimed Sands of Arawiya duology by bestselling author Hafsah Faizal. Inspired by ancient Arabian culture, mythology, and folklore, this epic young adult fantasy combines magic, adventure, romance, political intrigue, and unforgettable characters in a richly imagined world.

Set in the magical kingdom of Arawiya, where darkness is spreading and magic has disappeared, the story follows Zafira, a legendary hunter known as the Hunter of the Arz. Disguised as a man to evade societal restrictions, Zafira ventures into the cursed forest to provide food for her people and survive in a world filled with danger.

Across the kingdom, Nasir, the infamous Prince of Death, serves as the Sultan’s most feared assassin. Forced to carry out ruthless orders, Nasir struggles with the darkness within himself while longing for freedom from his burdensome destiny.

When an ancient artifact known as the Jawarat, capable of restoring magic to Arawiya, is discovered, both Zafira and Nasir are sent on a perilous quest to retrieve it. Alongside an unlikely group of companions, they travel across dangerous lands filled with mythical creatures, hidden secrets, and powerful enemies.

As their journey unfolds, alliances are tested, secrets are revealed, and feelings begin to develop between two people who should never trust each other. With the fate of their kingdom hanging in the balance, Zafira and Nasir must confront their fears and decide what they are willing to sacrifice for those they love.

Hafsah Faizal’s stunning prose, atmospheric world-building, and emotionally complex characters make We Hunt the Flame a standout fantasy novel. The book explores themes of identity, courage, sacrifice, destiny, friendship, loyalty, and self-discovery while delivering an action-packed adventure that keeps readers engaged from beginning to end.

Perfect for fans of epic fantasy, romantic fantasy, Middle Eastern-inspired fiction, and strong character-driven stories, We Hunt the Flame has become a beloved favorite among fantasy readers worldwide.
